Hext is back. And so is Savang, making trouble for them both, in this crossover story in which Chrístõ’s parents are in jeopardy.

More specifically, they’re in Liverpool. And in particular, in Williamson Square. The location was completely coincidental. I had pictured the scene first of Marion coming out of the wedding shop and bumping into Hext and I then googled wedding shops in Liverpool. The first one to come up was Pronuptia, in Williamson Square. It couldn’t have been better. There are several cafes in the same area and plenty of space for the scene to play out. Though in fact the café I was envisaging as I described the scene was one in Preston city centre. Since I didn’t name the café as such, it really doesn’t matter.

Where to take the story next was a problem. I thought first of going back into the history of Merseyside, perhaps to prehistoric times. But I couldn’t find any clear information about what the Mersey estuary was like pre-ice age. I decided, therefore, to simply set the story in Hext’s TARDIS. It was not especially an action story anyway. The point of it all was the interplay between Chrístõ, Hext and Chrístõ’s father, who, at least at the start, doesn’t know that Chrístõ is his future son.

Of course, somebody like Ambassador de Lœngbǽrrow wasn’t going to be fooled for long. Just when he actually figured it out is not specified. But by the time Chrístõ and Julia sneak into the church to see the wedding he knows perfectly well who they are.  That scene, of course, is reminiscent of the scene in Father’s Day when The Doctor and Rose witness Jackie and Pete Tyler’s wedding.

Will Savang sit quietly in jail now? Not likely. Watch this space!
