The Dome at the
centre of the Cult of An’AdaraC’hak is not based on any real
The ceremony with the candles and the bowl of light is VERY slightly based on the Easter Vigil in the Catholic church, but I let it get a bit more imaginative and fanciful. The older rituals of An’AdaraC’hak are not based on any religion at all, but chanting and circling, daggers and blood sacrifice are popular elements of fictional sinister religion. And the one responsible for it – not Epsilon, but his FATHER, who has a lot of The Master about him, of course. Think of the decayed Master in Keeper of Traken. This is a similar idea. The damaged Time Lord, his body almost destroyed, using people to live beyond his time. And of course he would seek a Time Lord – especially a Time Lord of the family he despises – to achieve a stable and complete new life. But the villain
come to thorny ends through the efforts of Chrístõ and his friends. Making Kohb and Camilla’s physical love for each other explicit and open was an early idea for including in this story. From here on there is no doubt that they are an item, despite their apparent incompatibility. |
