Christine, has nothing to do with the horror story by Stephen King. It is a story about what might have been if Chrístõ wasn’t an only child. He wakes up one morning and finds himself with a sister, who had has known all his life, who has been the bane of his life even as much as he adores her.

This story is another one which owes its origins to a story in the Bunty, or a Bunty like magazine. In the original story, a girl wakes up and finds she has a sister, who everyone else accepts but she doesn’t. It later transpires that aliens planted the child on her family and for some reason HER mind wasn’t changed along with everyone else.

And yes, they did it in Buffy with her little sister.

What makes THIS different is that Christine created herself. As she eventually explains to him, she is the spirit of his older sister who died a few hours old. She has been with him all his life, watching him grow up, watching him achieve his ambitions. She learnt to be a Time Lord with him. And she used her knowledge to create a body for herself, to be with him in flesh as well as spirit for a little while.

As well as another learning curve for Chrístõ, it was a chance to see Julia as a livelier girl, with somebody her own age to play with. She actually GETS to be her own age for a while. Chrístõ has tended to treat her as more grown up, taking her to balls and such. In this story she gets to play like a twelve year old more. And that’s no bad thing. Except that Chrístõ has to be strict and big brotherly to them both.

It is an emotional interlude for him, before going on to a couple of very dramatic stories.
