Pelia's people brings Chrístõ and his friends back to Phyrantia and the Underworld of the Periaions. And Chrístõ has a couple of shocks. Now, I have assumed that readers KNOW that Chrístõ is a virgin. But one or two have asked, given that he is 190 years old. Having him admit that he is settles the argument. The idea of him being the ‘catalyst’ that allowed Princess Pelia to have her fairy babies, without himself contributing to the conception in the usual sense of the word was an idea I had contemplated but wasn’t sure how to approach it. The PG status of these stories was a little strained.

The introduction into Pelia’s world of death and violence is also pushing the PG envelope. The murder suicide of the surveying team actually comes across VERY stark compared to the simple, beautiful life of the Periaions. I actually toned it DOWN a little by having the youngest of the team survive and stay with Pelia as her lover. But it is still worryingly stark. Bringing the words murder, manslaughter, weapon and enemy to a people who knew nothing of them before is a dark idea. I’m not sure this is the most successful story. But I’ve edited it as much as I can and I’m not sure what more to do with it.
