Hot Springs Interlude is one of those stories I throw in every so often just to annoy the sort of people who don’t like sex in Marion and Kristoph’s saga. This story is almost entirely about them having sex, mostly in a spa pool, including an underwater session with Kristoph sharing his oxygen with Marion while making love to her. It’s steamy fun between a married couple who’ve had some rough times and need a chance to rediscover the hot and steamy part of their love life. The fact that Time Lords have a certain stamina is played upon. Kristoph is on form as a dominant lover, in the spa, in the sauna, and in the bed. And that’s all this story is about. There’s no subplot, no hidden themes. It’s there to show that Marion and Kristoph are still madly in love and still up for a good time, and to really get the prudes hot under the collar.
