Jarod and Calliope's Alliance has been hanging in the air for quite a while, now. Their romance began at Marion and Kristoph’s wedding reception when they danced together and Calliope caught Marion’s bouquet – obviously a tradition that is common to Earth and Gallifrey! They were betrothed and thinking about their Alliance when Marion fell at the Patriclian winter party and lost her baby, and then Jarod was called up for offworld service. Now, finally, nothing can stop them…

Except the fact that the groom is up a mountain on the southern continent, in dense fog, and the bride is in the Citadel in the Capitol, on the northern continent, and the ceremony is about to begin.

Will the groom get to the Panopticon on time? The plotline is an old one. Many a situation comedy has been based on the premise of either the bride or the groom being delayed by circumstances utterly beyond his or her control. Doctor Who did it in good style in The Runaway Bride. On Gallifrey, while many things are different to Earth, many things are the same. Brides worry about their perfect day. Grooms are convinced that they will be left at the altar if they don’t get everything right. Throw in some Gallifreyan geography and a time machine to resolve the problem in the end and we’re good for a double episode with just a couple of surprises but otherwise everything you would expect from the genre.
